A 1969 surgical resection specimen from a 59 year old man with crippling dyspnoea due to chronic rheumatic endocarditis. He had the signs of mitral stenosis and incompetence and tricuspid incompetence. At operation the mitral and tricuspid valves were replaced by Starr valve prostheses.
