An autopsy specimen from a 26 yr old Bantu female, who developed typhoid one month after having given birth to a full term infant. The specimen consists of a segment of small intestine showing typical typhoid ulceration of the Peyer's patches with bile stained slough and other foci of lymphoid hyperplasia in the bowel wall.
