A collection of gallstones found during routine autopsy in 75 successive cases, covering a wide field of trauma and simple pathology, in subjects ranging from 26 to 88 years of age. In none was there any history of symptoms referable to cholelithiasis. Symptoms are common among those who seek medical advice and treatment but the absence of symptoms is an almost routine finding when dealing with the large body of general pathology and trauma autopsies.
