A 1935 surgical resection specimen comprising a fallopian tube and ovary showing the features of a chronic gonococcal pyosalpinx with involvement of the adjacent ovary. The dilated loculi of the tube are partly filled with purulent material and there is fibrous thickening of the tubal wall. From a woman, age 30, with bilateral pyosalpinx. The tubes, ovaries and uterus were removed at operation.
