A 1958 autopsy specimen, consisting of the tongue, larynx, trachea and lungs from a five year old child who was treated for three months as a case of"cough". The final rapid downhill course terminating in death before the diagnosis was established. The lungs show an almost confluent bilateral caseous pneumonia ("galloping consumption"). The tracheo-bronchial lymph nodes are enlarged and show extensive tuberculous caseation.
