A 1935 autopsy specimen comprising the bladder from a 15 year old Nigerian boy who died of lobar pneumonia. The bladder shows a thickened wall with multiple granular patches, consisting of mass deposits of Schistosomahaematobium ova, on the mucosal aspect. Clinically there were no symptoms ofbilharziaand the bladder lesions were an incidental finding at post mortem.
