Coarctation with aortic dissection and rupture

尸检标本from a 16 year old Eton schoolboy who collapsed whilst in the scrum. He was semi-conscious and lapsed, before the arrival of the school doctor twenty minutes later, into a coma. No material physical signs were elicited before his death at 20:00 the same evening. Autopsy revealed the conditions shown here. The boy had pursued a perfectly ordinary life as a schoolboy for nearly five years, subject to no physical restrictions and making no complaint.
