A 1976 autopsy specimen from a 57 year old man who presented with angina pectoris and then pain in his tongue. He had a fungating tumour of the dorsum of his tongue. There were no palpable lymph nodes in the neck, but he died suddenly with multiple metastases in his heart and lungs.
