A 1949 autopsy specimen from a 59 year old man who complained of pain in the chest on September 30th. The pain came on suddenly as he was hurrying to his train, the pain radiated to his left shoulder and upper arm. He took things easily that day, the pain wearing off during the morning and improving until October 3rd when it recurred in bed at night. He called a doctor who diagnosed coronary thrombosis and sent him to hospital. E.C.G. confirmed an anterior left ventricular infarct. Treatment was unsuccessful and death took place on October 13th.
